Interests: Obviously as you can see, I take photographs. It reminds me that the world is more beautiful than our perception sometimes will let it appear. I also love music and can pretty much play whatever normal instrument you can think of. I have an electric organ and an accordion aside from the way too many guitars and keyboards that have turned my room into a mess of cables, wires, and instruments. Aside from those things, I love to write. When I was younger I would read all the time. I used to read all sorts of books by George Macdonald, or C.S. Lewis. Their love of writing has become contagious to me. I only wish I could express something half as good as they could.

Let's start at the very beginning (a very good place to start)...

This last Friday I went to meet with a studio about working as a photographer. Gave them my portfolio, website, etc. Now I have another meeting with them next week about working mainly in the after-effects department.

Then, this weekend I went and photographed a local band playing at a 3,000+ wakeboarding convention. It's definitely not my best work ever. But I've never done live photography really. Here's some of the photographs:

I won. By a large margin. I printed all six shots I still couldn't decide with and waited until I saw the competitors' shots. Everything was pretty much on the side of dull colors and the only real colorful photos were the amature, "take a snapshot of a pretty sunset" photograph. I took the glass out to avoid the glare from the windows and the lights. Then I put out all of my other photos as my portfolio. My piece was judged and then I shook hands, gave my phone number out to girls who asked for it, received business cards from photographers wanting interns (free labor), and so on. It was kind of like the results I used to get on this Xanga, only in public. I think I can do this photography stuff for real.

Haa, and umm my dad took this'n of me...

No, that is not a waterfall...it's a sewage drain. The flooding from the last two days gave it a lot to spew out. But shhhhhh...what the photo hides is what your imagination defines! And, yeah, that is my lil' tike camera I take all these shots with. I know, I know...camera nerds, I'm sorry...I don't have your thousand dollar 50mega pixal glory. I guess I'll stick to peasantry shots. ;)
